A holiday in Collepietra, Val d’Ega, at the foot of the magnificent Catinaccio
Prepare to be amazed by the magical mountain village that is Collepietra.
Our wonderful village of Collepietra is located on a ridge above Val d’Ega, surrounded by the Catinaccio, Latemar, Corno Bianco and Corno Nero mountains, making it the ideal holiday spot for all those who love the mountains, hiking, cycling, mountain biking, Nordic walking and experiencing the most beautiful aspects of nature.
Collepietra is part of the community of Cornedo, which spans an altitude of between 275 and 1650m above sea level. The village of Collepietra itself is 800m above sea level. Castel Cornedo and the Collepietra village museum are well worth a visit. South Tyrol’s first and only public planetarium and solar observatory are situated in San Valentino di Sopra and offer a unique view of the universe.
Directly above the hotel, there is now a demonstrative, educational trail dedicated to emphasising the importance of bees. An apiary has been set up in the middle of the countryside, surrounded by magnificent mountain views of Catinaccio and the Dolomites. Guests of all ages can learn all about the fascinating lives of these extraordinary mini-beasts… and our mascot Sabine the bee will be with you every step of the way!
